Hibo Aden
Hibo was born in Somalia in the capital city Mogadishu in 1986. Hibo means ‘gift’ and she was given this name because she was the first born in the family. Hibo first moved to the UK in 2000. When they moved to the UK they originally lived in London but soon moved to Milton Keynes because they could not adapt to the London lifestyle. When they moved to Milton Keynes Hibo was thirteen so she had to leave friends behind and learn a new language. She feels that Milton Keynes has only felt like home in the last ten years. She likes the greenery and the openness of Milton Keynes because she grew up around nature. Hibo’s favourite place in Milton Keynes is Willen Lake because it’s peaceful and she likes seeing the water. She originally disliked the people in Milton Keynes because they were mainly white and she was used to be surrounded by people from different cultures. She believes Milton Keynes is a lot more diverse now than other areas in the UK, but it is still not as diverse as other countries like Amsterdam. Hibo is settled and happy in Milton Keynes.
