Robert shares how he moved with his family as a child to Milton Keynes as a result of his father securing work through the Development Corporation. He shares how they moved to Netherfield and as a child he was struck by the contrast between the rural landscapes and the futurism of the emerging New Town. Robert shares how one of his parents' friends was the chief architect for a new shopping centre and in an early memory Robert recalls feeling inspired on visiting the site prior to its opening to the public. Having moved away from the New Town as an adult he shares his feelings on moving back after 20 years and witnessing the scale of change and urban growth that has taken place across the past two decades.
